right! just a real quickie to say that my neu track extreme terror is now on myspace, so make sure you drop in for a listen… thanks for your support!
over and out (soon on Sabotage Concept Records)
:]
need a shove? not getting any touch? you think it means too much?
you not coming undone? you afraid of fun? well, come play with Synthia
and let them recharge your love battery to the max with their Love Energy! mixtape… it contains a variety of french electro-berries, and other super-fruity goodies, smoothy blended using plenty of FM modulation…
when it comes to talking about their own production work, rather than their DJ mixes, their name may be a bit of a giveaway, and it ain’t ironical, which means that it does just what it says on the tin, and you can expect synths galore… with an EP on Revolucion Records released last october and an album being released on their own label this spring, they’re likely to be one name you’re going to be hearing once and over again during 2009 and beyond… their approach to french-stylee 80s-inspired beats oozes simplicity, freshness and flawless sampling… Synthia don’t try to be anyone else… their tracks are packed with light, colour and funk-filled, sometimes mysteriously dark arps… they don’t sound just like everyone else, and that’s why we just absolutely love them…
here’s the tracklist for the Love Energy! mixtape:

this is the first of many posts about what’s for us one of the freshest, hottest emerging piece of french talent in the electro scene at the moment…
at first Kolt13 may strike you as your penny-a-dozen neu dance acts, but as you listen to the his own work and his remixes - and he’s rather prolific at that! check his remix page- you start to appreciate the simple complexity of his production, with enough to keep your ears filled and your brain busy but all working on top of a simple yet masterful harmonic loop skeleton, working very much like a top notch track by Mr Oizo… with a previous background in hiphop, if these are Kolt13’s first few steps into electro, we can’t wait to listen to what he’ll be doing in a few months! make sure to check his ’space for more!
as a starter, try the sweet-n-sour, highly addictive Thunder… starts with a bang and goes with a melodic surprise… moreish!
then as a main course we suggest his rework of The Kickdrums‘ Love is a Drug… delighfully synth-filled, chunky, warming, full bodied, best put on your iPod immeditely after Thunderand kept on repeat… absolutely perfect... long live Kolt13!
oh! for the screeching of processors! the gurgling gutteral shrieks of double-dropping atari STs and colour-cycling amiga 500s whacked off their fizzogs on the delicate ’shrooms.
and that’s what the new disk-o from David Morris aka Boy 8-Bit brings us. frantic synths and electro nonesense all recorded in glorious retro-vision. bleep bleep indeed Mr Morris!
no mp3 this time, ’cause fer chrissake, the whole EP is only £2.95! go listen. go learn.
